I have a manual, but never saw that part - I trust you on this though. A turbo timer letting the engine idle would seemingly be pointless then.. Perhaps the exhaust gases going through the turbine are cooler (which they are) than when you are bootsing and this may play a role, but it would seem to me that an additional electric pump, an additional oil line fitting at the bottom of the oil pan to pickup oil and deliver it to the cooler would be a better way to cool the oil. With this in mind, I guess you can see where I'm going with this. Seems pointless to have a turbo timer when its purpose is supposed to be cooling the turbos. Makes more sense to have an electric pump circulating the oil through the cooler when in turbo timer mode. And I will certainly do this. : the valve opens at 47-53PSI. No oil flows to the cooler below this pressure... the design is intended to cool the oil during extended high rpm runs by using "excess" oil pressure to flow the oil through the cooler.
